Message from Afternoon Session Panel Chairman

Echoing with the theme of this conference, sustainability is always a key element in the latest developments of concrete technologies and applications today, and probably beyond. Embracing wide-ranging pain points and solutions in the context of concrete technologies, sustainability is being pursued through having more durable concrete structures with longer services life, increasing the use of low-carbon constituent materials for concrete, as well as enhancing energy efficiency in the supply and production processes of concrete. These initiatives call for collaborative efforts from different parties in the value chain, from academic researches, production trials and optimization, best practices in construction sites, through to regulations and compliance controls.

The afternoon session of this conference pulls together speakers from different sectors to share their findings, experiences and achievements in pursuing sustainability on concrete technologies and applications. Their presentations will offer insights into how concrete can be produced and used in a more sustainable manner through adopting advanced materials, protective measures and workflow enhancement.
