Richway Industries -Tony Borglum

Tony Borglum is a second-generation owner of Richway Industries. He holds a Bachelors degree in Industrial Technology and an MBA degree, from the University of Northern Iowa.

Tony became company President in 2012. Since then, he’s been responsible for strategic planning in all aspects of the business, with an emphasis on the general direction and design of new products.

Richway entered the cellular concrete market in 2007, with Tony being the key driver in the strategic development of equipment offerings. Their largest machine is capable of producing up to 75m³/hour of 500kg/m density material. 

Tony also consults with customers on projects and applications, along with going onsite to jobsites to provide technical support and training. Richway has had equipment and direct involvement with projects as large as 100,000m³.

Lightweight Cellular Grout (LCG) Solutions for Civil Engineering Applications:

This presentation explores lightweight cellular grout (LCG) as a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to conventional construction materials. The focus is on three key applications:

1. Retaining Walls for Slope Stabilization– Replacing no-fines concrete with LCG to reduce material usage, improve workability, and enhance drainage performance.
2. Road Pavement Subbase– Utilizing LCG as a lightweight, stable subbase to minimize settlement and improve load distribution.
3. Reinforced Earth Walls– Substituting compacted soil with LCG for faster installation, reduced labor requirements, and improved cost efficiency.
